Derelict Farm

Driving up towards the Perfumery from Cappaghmore, just beyond the National Park at Slieve Carran, you come upon this farmstead silhouetted on the horizion. The rooves are gone, but the ash trees that were planted to provide shelter from the wind are still there, standing guard over the walls. Throughout the Burren ruined cottages and farms testify to when farming was the mainstay of this area and small farms could still provide a living.
