Bloody Cranesbill

Bloody Cranesbill grow everywhere in the Burren through Spring and Summer in great profusion. Eye catching and unmistakeable, they're very photogenic. This model was captured in June 2004 while she took the sun above the warm limestone. Beautiful seen with the sunlight through their petals, they are at their very best though, I think, in the rain under dark skies, when water beads on the petals and the colour is super-saturated.
