The Common Blue is a little butterfly that is common and... blue. The top surfaces of its wings are a vivid blue, but difficult to photograph as they're usually closed when it alights. I have some pictures though, which I will post when I get around to doing our butterflies section. Common Blues are everywhere throughout the summer. This one is perched on a common plantain, photographed a little North of the Perfumery mid-July 2004.
