Marsh Marigolds seem to grow strongly in quite select places and then are hard to find elsewhere. This one is in a boggy, little field that lies just to one side of the road that runs between the two parts of the turlough at Carron. They put me in mind of Wind in the Willows for some reason, some childhood memories of marsh mallows being mentioned in the book. However, these are not for eating. Apparently the plants are quite toxic unless the plant material has been cooked or heated. They do kind of look good enough to eat though...
