Burren Perfumery

Burren Orchids

Lesser Celandine

Lesser Celandine

Another spring denizen of the Burren woodlands. These flowers stand out like bright stars in the twilight world of the Burren woods. Like the Wood Anemone their petals are reflective, makig it difficult to get a good exposure when photographing them. It occurs to me as I write this that maybe this is a trait of woodland flowers, t that having shiny petals makes them more conspicuous in the gloom? Maybe a helpful botanist can set me right on this one.
