Cuckoo Flower or Lady's Smock

Cuckoo Flower

Cuckoo flowers, or Lady's Smock as they are also known, seem to favour marshy places. This one was photographed in Carron village, in the field opposite the school my daughter attends as I was waiting to pick her up one day. I had been admiring these flowers for several days and decided to grab the camera and take some quick shots, even though I didn't have my tripod with me. Just as well that I did because the next day the field was full of cows and the flowers were gone. I guess cuckoo flowers must be tasty?
