Beside the road known locally as the New Line (because once it was new, and (most unusually for Ireland back then) it was a straight line) near Cappaghmore Cross there is a field of limestone pavement that is almost entirely covered in valerian flowers in June. It's amazing and I've photographed it many times, but really you have to see it to appreciate it. Valerian is a garden escapee, often seen on walls and in rocky places, but this is the only place where I've seen it in such profusion.
