Early Purple Orchid

These early purples were photographed in mid-May, almost late by early purple standards which begin appearing in April, although they can still be seen in tbe Burren as late as June. A pretty little orchid they vary quite a lot in colour; pink is common as is an almost white variant. They can also vary in size, from quite densely flowered specimens to more delicate instances like the one pictured here.
